Völkl Peregrine 82 Lowride Skis (Latest Seasons): The Versatile All-Mountain Athlete
The Völkl Peregrine 82 Lowride are versatile all-mountain skis designed to impress experienced skiers on both icy slopes and fresh snow. With an 82mm waist, these skis provide an excellent balance between edge-to-edge agility and the ability to float in variable conditions. They are precise, stable, and responsive, ideal for those seeking a single pair of skis to conquer the entire mountain, regardless of the conditions.
Key Features and Technologies:
- Intended Use: All-mountain, including groomed runs, hard snow, as well as variable conditions and light powder.
- Tailored Carbon Tips: An innovative manufacturing process allows for the precise placement of individual carbon fibers in the ski tips. This provides increased agility, direct response, and less effort during turn initiation, optimizing handling characteristics.
- Tailored Titanal Frame: A 0.7 mm thick Titanal frame whose width and Titanal content are precisely adapted to each individual ski length. It is positioned above the sidewall, in the tip and tail areas, providing the desired dampening, torsional stiffness, and direct power transmission. An additional, thinner Titanal layer (0.3 mm) under the binding reinforces the ski while maintaining its flexibility.
- Multilayer Woodcore: A combination of stable hardwood layers (beech, poplar) on the sides for higher power transmission and improved edge grip, with lighter and more flexible wood in the center, which increases agility and reduces overall ski weight.
- 3D Radius Sidecut: Three radii in one ski provide maximum versatility. Long radii in the tip (e.g., 27m for 177 cm) and tail (e.g., 23m for 177 cm) are ideal for big turns and high speeds, while a shorter radius in the center (e.g., 15m for 177 cm) excels in short turns and at lower speeds, offering exceptional agility.
- 3D.GLASS: Three-dimensional, multi-layered glass laminates in the ski's tip and tail areas enhance edge grip and provide a more dynamic rebound behavior in turns.
- Full Sidewall: Full-length sidewalls ensure direct and strong power transmission.
- Tip & Tail Rocker: The skis bend upwards in the shovel and tail zones, while the middle maintains a camber shape, facilitating turn initiation and improving float in variable and soft snow.
- Base P-Tex 4504: A sintered, ultra-high molecular polyethylene base with extremely high density, known for excellent wear resistance, ideal wax absorption, and exceptional speed. Used in top-tier models, often with thermal and electro-conductive additives.
- Bindings: Available as a package with Marker Lowride 13 FR bindings. This system, developed in collaboration with Marker, features a very low stand height (10mm lower), ensuring better power transfer and edge grip, increasing agility.
- Sidecut (for 177 cm): 128 - 82 - 111 mm.
- Turn Radius (for 177 cm): 15 m
- Available Lengths: 162, 167, 172, 177, 182 cm.
- Weight (for 177 cm with binding): Approx. 3130 g.
The Völkl Peregrine 82 Lowride is an excellent choice for skiers seeking a versatile ski that offers high performance, precision, and enjoyment in all conditions, from hardpack to soft snow.
